Download Morrissey into the top 40 experiment [14 Jan 2007|01:46pm]

girlafraid50

We’re doing an experiment over on Morrissey-solo.
We’re going to try and download a smiths or Morrissey song into the top 40. It could work because of the new downloading rule.

We’ve got a poll going at the moment to decide on which song.

For this to work we need as much fans to get involved as possible so please vote and take part.

The World Won't Listen...But I Will [22 Jan 2006|04:13pm]

So I'm new to the Smiths and Morrissey basically. I mean, I've been into them for months now, but the only albums I've had are "The Best of the Smiths...1", "The Best of the Smiths...2", "The Best of Morrissey", and "Morrissey: Live at Earl's Court". I had been looking around for some time, trying to find good Smiths albums and Morrissey albums but in local record stores there is practically nothing. Just the cds I already have and some random singles. So I went to the mecca of indie music in So Cal - Amoeba Records - and intended on building my collection. And that I did. In one visit, I picked up:
"The Smiths" -their first one
"The Queen is Dead"
"Louder Than Bombs"
"Strangeways, Here We Come"
"Viva Hate"
"Your Arsenal"
"Vauxhall and I"
"My Early Burgulary Years"
and "You Are the Quarry"
Not bad eh? I would have gotten more, but thats all I could afford. I've been listening non stop since I got home and its just been amazing. "Strangeways" has been my favorite so far. But overall, the music is just remarkable, and now that I have all the lyrics from the booklets I have become so much more fascinated by their songs. Especially since a great deal of the words relate to my life, particularly now. I just love it.
